Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE revealed

  • Special process used to obtain an airbrushed effect on the bodywork

  • It is based on the base Hypermotard 950

  • Will go on sale in international markets from July 2020

Ducati has introduced a new variant of the Hypermotard 950, the RVE. It is inspired by the  Ducati Hypermotard 950 concept that was showcased at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in 2019. The Hypermotard 950 RVE features a graffiti-style paint job with two-tone seats and wheels. It also gets a bi-directional Ducati Quickshifter (DQS EVO) as standard. The Hypermotard 950 RVE is positioned between the base Hypermotard 950 and the top-spec Hypermotard 950 SP.

Ducati says it went to great lengths to get the graffiti paintwork spot on. The idea was to ensure the same kind of paint finish as seen on the 2019 concept. A set of highly skilled painters employed a long and complex process, as well as the use of low thickness decals, to give it the look of an airbrushed bodywork.

Below the attractive paint job, the RVE is based on the entry-level Hypermotard 950. It is powered by a 937cc, twin-cylinder engine that develops 114hp at 9,000rpm and 96Nm of peak torque. It also shares the same suspension components, adjustable 45mm Marzocchi fork at the front and monoshock at the rear. Besides DQS EVO, the electronics package includes Ducati Traction Control (DTC EVO),  Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC EVO), cornering ABS and Slide by Brake function.

The Hypermotard 950 RVE is priced at £ 11,750 (around Rs 11.32 lakh) and will go on sale in international markets from July 2020 onwards. It is unclear if Ducati will launch the RVE in India, but if it does, expect the price to sit north of Rs 12 lakh.
