BS6 Honda Civic diesel bookings open

  • BS6 Civic diesel to launch in July
  • Customers can book the sedan through the ‘Honda from Home’ online sales platform

Honda India has announced that bookings for the BS6 Civic diesel are now open, ahead of the updated sedan’s launch in July. The diesel version will join the petrol-powered Honda Civic that has been BS6-compliant since its launch back in March 2019 and currently costs between Rs 17.94 lakh and Rs 21.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

What engine is powering the BS6 Civic diesel?

As with the BS4 model, the BS6 Civic diesel will be powered by a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel motor that puts out 120hp and 300Nm of torque. The Civic diesel can only be had with a 6-speed manual gearbox; there’s no automatic on offer.

How to book the BS6 Civic diesel?

Buyers looking to purchase the BS6-compliant Civic diesel can book the car at any of the company’s authorised dealerships across the nation or via the ‘Honda from Home’ online sales platform that was recently introduced.

What’s next from Honda?

Apart from the BS6 Civic diesel, Honda India is also gearing up to launch the petrol-only BS6 Jazz and the WR-V facelift soon. The all-new, fifth-gen City sedan will also be introduced in our market in the coming weeks.

Rivals

As the Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis are no longer on sale, the Honda Civic currently has just one direct competitor in the form of the Hyundai Elantra. Hyundai will introduce the BS6 Elantra diesel in the coming months, with the BS6 petrol version already being on sale.
