Earlier this month, Ampere Vehicles, the electric mobility subsidiary of Greaves Cotton, launched its Magnus Pro e-scooter. The Magnus Pro was launched as a better equipped, more capable iteration of the Magnus 60, and it appears that the latter has now been discontinued.
Unlike the new Magnus Pro that uses a lithium-ion battery, the Magnus 60 was equipped with a lead-acid battery that had a claimed range of 45-50km on a full charge. Ampere claimed that a full charge took between 8-10 hours. In comparison, the new Magnus Pro offers 75-80km of range on a full charge and takes 5-6 hours to charge to 100 percent. The Magnus 60 was also one of Ampere’s slower scooters with a top speed of just 25kph.
The Magnus 60 was priced at Rs 44,699, nearly Rs 30,000 less than the Magnus Pro. Ampere’s product portfolio now comprises five vehicles – the Magnus Pro, Reo, Reo Elite, Zeal and the V48.
All prices, ex-showroom Bengaluru.
