2020 KTM 250 Duke launched at Rs 2.09 lakh

KTM has updated the BS6 250 Duke with an LED headlight and priced the bike at Rs 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), as we’d reported earlier this week. This mildly tweaked version costs around Rs 4,000 more than the model it replaces; the outgoing 250 Duke was priced at Rs 2.05 lakh. The BS6 version was first launched at Rs 2 lakh, but later witnessed a price hike that brought it up to Rs 2.05 lakh.

With this latest update, the KTM 250 Duke gets the full LED headlight seen on the more expensive 390 Duke and 390 Adventure, replacing the older unit that used halogen bulbs. The instrument cluster, however, continues to be an LCD unit, with the TFT colour dash that’s found on its larger siblings having been given a miss.

The BS6 250 Duke features dual-channel ABS with a ‘Supermoto’ mode that disables ABS at the rear. KTM has also equipped the bike with a one-touch-start system that eliminates the need to press and hold the starter button to crank the engine.

There are no other changes, and the bike continues to use the same 248.8cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 30hp and 24Nm of torque. Despite the 250cc segment heating up quite a bit, the 250 Duke continues to be the most powerful bike in its class, alongside the Husqvarna twins, which share the same engine.
