- New grille and exclusive grey-yellow colour scheme provide refreshed look
- New model continues with 123hp, 1.6-litre petrol engine
- Creature comforts include drive modes and climate-controlled front seats
Hyundai has introduced a new variant of the smallest SUV in its line-up – the Venue Flux. The latest iteration of the popular model gets a number of stylistic touches inside and out to keep things fresh. Let’s take a closer look to see what’s changed.
What exterior changes does the Venue Flux get?
The face of the Venue Flux gets a refreshed look, with a new ‘hot-stamped’ radiator grille that brings it in line with larger Hyundai SUVs like the Kona and even the Santa Fe. The dark-coloured mesh pattern replaces the chrome embellished, slatted grille on the standard version.
The Flux has been revealed in a single cosmic grey paint shade with an acid-yellow roof. The yellow-green tinge also makes its way to the wing mirrors and trims on the front and rear bumpers, wheel arches and body side moulding. There is an interesting badge on the C-pillar as well.
What interior changes does the Venue Flux get?
The Venue Flux comes with grey leatherette upholstery on the inside. The acid-yellow theme continues in the cabin and can be found on the seat and steering wheel stitching, as well as on accents around the air-conditioner vents, climate controls and driving mode selector.
What does the Venue Flux's features list look like?
The latest version of the Hyundai SUV comes with projector headlamps, LED DRLs, alloy wheels, roof rails, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, drive and traction mode selector, climate-controlled front seats and a heated steering wheel. Safety kit includes multiple airbags, ABS, EBD and traction control.
What are the engine options?
A 1.6-litre Smartstream petrol engine powers the front wheels of the new Venue. Mated to a CVT automatic transmission, it puts out 123hp and 154Nm of torque. For better driver involvement, Hyundai has also provided the convenience of cycling through three drive modes (Sport, Eco and Normal) and three traction control modes (Snow, Mud and Sand).
Will the Venue Flux come to India?
The Venue Flux has only been introduced in the South Korean market for now. There has been no official announcement about bringing the cosmetic changes to the India-spec model.
For our market, the Venue gets an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol mill and a 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor. All three engines get a manual transmission as standard, though only the more power petrol comes with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
For now, the Venue goes up against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300 in India. It will also have to contend with models like the Kia Sonet, in the coming months.
